Curriculum

NYCNECT offers a year-long professional development program for nursing and health professions educators with in-depth sequences in innovative pedagogy, simulation, informatics, and telehealth.  NYCNECT Transformers attend a mix of workshops and webinars, explore e-learning resources, and discuss these topics in an online course with their peers. They apply what they learn by collaborating in small teams on a project integrating one or more of these instructional technologies to meet a real need at their home institution(s).  At the end of the year-long program, Transformers present the outcomes of their projects at an annual health professions educators conference.

Tuition is free for all full time and adjunct faculty and instructional or IT support staff working at CUNY. Our program offers approximately 45 hours of professional development during the academic year, with additional opportunities for individual support and mentoring. Workshops are facilitated by highly-experienced faculty and renowned guest speakers with expertise in simulation and other health care and educational technologies. Transformers are invited to join our network of CUNY Nurse Educators on the CUNY Academic Commons, a group for consortium members and other colleagues dedicated to teaching-learning in nursing and interprofessional education.
